About uppingham Hung yen

Through its exclusive partner, Viet Capital Education Fund (VCE), Uppingham School is expanding into Asia with its first campus in Ecopark, Hung Yen. This milestone introduces the Uppingham brand to the region and promises to set a new benchmark for world-class holistic education in Vietnam.

Uppingham School Vietnam – Hung Yen campus is a collaborative project developed by Viet Capital Education Fund (VCE), Uppingham School, Ecopark and 20in20 Partners. Renowned as a pioneer in holistic education, Uppingham, one of the UK’s leading independent schools with a history of nearly 500 years. Located on a 4.7-hectare site in Ecopark, Uppingham School Vietnam – Hung Yen campus will be a premier K–12 British international school. We offer the UK National Curriculum, progressing to GCSEs and A Levels that open pathways to the world’s leading universities. It will follow the same academic rigour of the Founding school and be accredited by international bodies. The school will provide outstanding facilities including a state-of-the-art sports complex, performing arts centre, football stadium, high-tech laboratories and modern library — allowing pupils to explore their passions and develop their strengths. The completion of the campus is being overseen by Broadway & Malyan, one of the United Kingdom’s most respected architectural firms.

Founded in 1584 under the charter of Queen Elizabeth I, Uppingham is distinguished by its commitment to providing an all-round education, where the development of each individual and their unique talents lies at the heart of the School’s ethos. Edward Thring, the School’s eminent Victorian Headmaster, believed that pupils should be given the opportunity to flourish in every area of life, pioneering the introduction of music, sport, and wellbeing into British school life. Today, Uppingham continues to champion the belief that every student has the potential to thrive, and that education must nurture not only intellectual achievement but also moral, integrity, creativity, and physical wellbeing. Under the leadership of Dr Maloney, Thring’s holistic philosophy remains central to Uppingham’s ethos, as the School equips its pupils to succeed in the 21st century and to be positive, creative forces for good in their communities.

"Education is about finding what each child can do best"
